Jared Kacso struck out consecutive batters to strand the bases loaded in the bottom of the seventh and the Bengals held on to knock off the previously-unbeaten Panthers and advance to Saturday's OCT semifinal at No. 4 Toms River North.

Kacso went the distance for the win, allowing three earned runs on eight hits and a pair of walks while striking out five.

Barnegat jumped in front with three runs in the top of the fourth inning against Josiah Gliddon, who took a no-hitter into the seventh inning of the previous meeting between the teams and held the Bengals hitless for the first 3 2/3 innings on Monday. The Panthers committed three errors in that inning, including one on a wild pitch that led to allowed two runs to scored on the same play.

Aaron McLaughlin added an RBI single in the top of the fifth to stretch the lead to 4-0 before Point Boro began to chip away. Frank Graziano hit a line-drive home run that cleared the high part of the left-field fence and plated two runs and Thomas Paul added an RBI single later in the inning to cut the lead to 4-3.

Barnegat center fielder Collin O'Conner and left fielder Eric Becker each helped save a run in the bottom of the sixth. O'Conner made a diving catch in the left-center gap on the first batter of the inning and with the tying run on second following a Pat Feehan double, Becker made a diving catch on a line drive by Bill Feehan after nearly over-running a knuckling line drive.

(4) Toms River North 6, (5) Jackson Liberty 1

Joey Rose blasted his Shore-Conference-leading seventh homer of the season - a two-run blast in the first inning - and the Mariners topped the Lions to advance to the OCT semifinals and a matchup against Barnegat ace and top MLB Draft proscpect Jason Groome.
