Kyle Johnson doubled in the bottom of the 10th and scored on a walk-off, RBI doubled by Chris Hawryluk to give the Jaguars a win over the Mariners in a game that was suspended in the ninth inning due to darkness back on April 6.

Joey Rose belted a walk-off three-run home run in the bottom of the seventh for his Shore-Conference-leading sixth long ball of the season and Austin Feigin went 4-for-4 with a home run as the Mariners outslugged the Jaguars in the second game of Monday's double-header.

Mike Nyisztor and Austin Feigin each came through with one-out singles against Jackson Memorial right-hander Chris Hawryluk, who entered in the bottom of the seventh to try to close out the win for the Jaguars. Rose, however, pounced on a 0-1 fastball and launched the game-winning home run into the trees beyond the left-field fence to end send the Mariners home with a win.

Toms River North scored nine runs in the first three innings and is now averaging 9.4 runs per game through 11 games.

Sophomore T.J. Scuderi pitched a three-hit shutout in his first varsity start and the Indians beat the Raiders to move into a first-place tie with Brick Memorial.

 

Lacey 2, Brick Memorial 0

Don Zellman and Tom Coraggio combined on a three-hit shutout and the Lions pulled out a win over the Mustangs. Zellman struck out six, walked five and allowed two hits over five innings before Coraggio came on for his two innings of one-hit ball with two strikeouts.

Brandon Haggerty went 2-for-3 with a double and a run scored and Alex Kraft was 1-for-3 with an RBI for Lacey.

Alec Merritt allowed two runs on three hits and five walks over his six innings while taking the hard-luck loss. Merritt struck out seven.

Christian Smith allowed three runs on six hits and four walks over six innings while striking out eight to earn the win.

Joe DelGrippo and John Nista each went 2-for-3 with an RBI, with DelGrippo also adding a double, triple and two runs scored. Kevin Donnelly also went 1-for-2 with a double and three RBI while starter John VanSchoick was 1-for-1 with a double and two walks. VanSchoick allowed four earned runs on nine hits in four innings while taking the loss.

Mike Zak went 2-for-5 with two RBI and the Lions upended the Hawks in 11 innings. Connor Keenan, Brandon Pallante and Ryan Van Wickle also went 2-for-5 each, with Pallante and Keenan each adding a double. Pallante also scored two runs and drove in one, while Van Wickle drove in one as well.

Freshman Daniel Sofield also went 3-for-4 with an RBI for Jackson Liberty.

Van Wickle also allowed three unearned runs over eight innings with four strikeouts and a walk before Matt Pickus took over and earned the win while allowing one run in three innings of relief.

Darrius Garcia went 3-for-6 with two doubles and two RBI, while Jon Meaney was 2-for-6 with a double and an RBI for Manchester.

Starter Dillon Barry lasted six innings before P.J. Martinez allowed three runs in five innings in taking the loss.

Donovan Catholic 6, Central 2

Ryan O'Sullivan went 2-for-2 with two runs scored and an RBI and Zach Mann was 1-for-2 with two runs and two RBI to lead the Griffins past the Golden Eagles.

Mann also went the distance to earn the win, allowing two unearned runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out three.

Tom Ruscitti was 2-for-4 with two doubles, a run scored and an RBI to lead Central. Ryan Paul allowed three earned runs on five hits over six innings in taking the loss.

No. 4 Point Boro 3, Barnegat 2 (8 Innings)

Pat Feehan lifted the game-winning sacrifice fly to the outfield in the bottom of the eighth and the Panthers walked off with an extra-inning win over the Bengals to extend their season-opening winning streak to 11.

Junior right-hander Josiah Gliddon took a no-hitter into the seventh inning before Jared Kacso broke it up with a one-out single, which ignited a two-run rally that send the game to the bottom of the seventh. Nik Caputo struck the big blow with a two-run double to tie the game.

Gliddon finished with seven strikeouts and one walk while allowing two earned runs on three hits over his seven innings. Tim Rossi pitched a scoreless eighth to earn the win.

Bill Feehan was 3-for-3 with an RBI, while Sebstian Severio and Frank Graziano each went 2-for-3, with Severion also adding a double.

Kacso went the distance in taking the loss, allowing two earned runs on nine hits and three walks while striking out four.

Shore 14, Long Branch 3 (5 Innings)

Rumson-Fair Haven 4, No. 8 Ocean 3 (11 Innings)

Winning pitcher Jackson Rissucci walked to force in the game-winning run in the bottom of the 11th and the Bulldogs beat the Spartans for their fifth straight win. Rissucci allowed one run on three hits in five innings of work with five strikeouts and no walks.

Anthony Mazzucca struck out 11 in six innings while allowing two runs on nine hits with a pair of walks before giving way to Rissucci. Ocean scored in the top of the seventh against Rissucci to send the game to the eighth inning.

Jake Talarico allowed two earned runs on seven hits in nine innings while striking out eight and walking none for Ocean. Brian Kochenash pitched the final 1 1/3 innings and took the loss.

Matt Fahey went 2-for-4 with a run and RBI and had one of his two hits to start the 11th-inning rally. Mike Frissora also added a hit during the 11th and finished 2-for-3 with a run scored. Danny Trocchia and Jake Caruso each had two hits and a run scored.

Max Winters went 3-for-5 with a run scored for Ocean, while Kochenash, Kenny Pickett and Tyler Rossback each went 2-for-5, with Pickett also scoring two runs.

Brick 4, No. 5 Middletown North 2

Matt Stadelberger went 1-for-2 with an RBI double and Nic Chirichello allowed one earned run in 4 1/3 innings to earn the win as the Green Dragons halted the Lions' seven-game winning streak.

Kyle Capo was 1-for-3 with an RBI fr Middletown North, while Garrett French allowed two earned runs on seven hits in suffering a complete-game loss.
