Senior Joe Rose homered and reached base in all five of his plate appearances while junior Mike Nyisztor finished 4-for-5 with three doubles to lead the Mariners to a win over the Rams.

Jared Bellissimo earned the win in with three shutout innings of relief, during which he allowed three hits and struck out four. Starter Anthony Sasso also allowed a run on three hits in three innings while striking out three.

Junior Tom Campo hit a game-winning, walk-off single to plate Michael Conover in the bottom of the eighth and give the Indians an extra-inning win over the Lions. Starting pitcher Don Zellman gave Lacey a 1-0 lead with an RBI single in the fifth inning before Toms River South tied the game on an RBI single by Ben Montenegro in the sixth that also scored Conover.

In addition to throwing an eight-inning complete game, Justin Fall made a game-saving play in the top of the seventh inning to keep the go-ahead run from scoring. After Jarret Dial doubled and moved to third on a bunt, Fall fielded a slow-roller up the third-base line and fired the ball to first for the final out of the inning.

Brendan Hueth plated the go-ahead run in the top of the sixth inning with an RBI single and the the Purple Roses secured their fifth straight win to open the season by beating the Seraphs.

Brody Maypother added his second double of the game to tack on a run and Will Gannon and Mike Gowen each added an RBI in the top of the seventh - Gowen on a double. Sophomore John Crowley earned his first career varsity win with a complete-game effort.

Point Boro 12, Donovan Catholic 0 (5 Innings)

Frank Graziano threw a five-inning one-hitter and Josiah Gliddon and Mark Leyble each homered to lead the Panthers to a rout of the Griffins. Graziano struck out four and did not walk a batter, while also going 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI.

Bill Feehan also went 2-for-4 with a double, two runs and an RBI, while Thomas Paul also doubled in a run. Sam Monaco was 3-for-4 with two runs scored and a stolen base out of the leadoff spot.
