The 2016 season was a quiet one for the Shore Conference in the NJSIAA Tournament, but the individual talent reached a level for which it's hard to find precedent. For the second straight year, the Gatorade N.J. Player of the Year hailed from the Shore Conference, as did the state home run leader and four MLB Draft picks straight out of high school.
