The 2014 St. John Vianney NJSIAA  Non-Public A State Championship team was inducted Wednesday into the Lakewoood BlueClaws Ring of Honor prior to Lakewood's game against the Hickory Crawdads.

The members of the 2014 Lancers squad gathered on the field for a photo opportunity prior to Lakewood's 6-3 win over Hickory.

St. John Vianney won the 2014 Non-Public A championship by defeating St. Joseph Montvale, 2-0, in the Group final and also defeated state powers Gloucester Catholic and Bishop Eustace en route to the championship game. The Lacers also took out 2015 Non-Public A champion Christian Brothers Academy in the sectional semifinal on the way to winning a state championship.

St. John Vianney won its first state championship in 32 years behind starting left-hander Justin Chin, first baseman Joe Rotelli and catcher Anthony Santora - among other key contributors along the way. Chin just completed his freshman season at the New Jersey Institue of Technology, while Rotelli is entering his sophomore year at Carson Newman University and Santoro prepares for a redshirt freshman year at Rutgers University.

Chin, Santoro, Rotelli and NJIT outfielder Evan Pietronico were Shore Sports Network first-team selections in 2014, while shortstop Chris Morris and designated hitter Anthony Lavigne were also third-team All-Shore selections in 2014. Class of 2015 right-hander and Shore Sports Network second-team pitcher Dan Schirmacher was also a key member of of the pitching staff in 2014.
