Barnegat senior Cinjun Erskine, one of the Shore Conference's top returning quarterbacks, verbally committed to Bucknell on Monday.

Erskine had narrowed his list to Bucknell, Colgate, Yale and the University of Pennsylvania before making his decision on Monday. A Shore Sports Network third-team All-Shore pick as a junior, Erskine completed 55 percent of his passes for 1,119 yards and 15 touchdowns and ran for 652 yards and six touchdowns to lead Barnegat to the Class B South division title and the first sectional final appearance in program history.

He began his high school career at Holy Spirit before transferring to his hometown school after his freshman year. He sat out 30 days as a sophomore because of the NJSIAA transfer rule before taking over as the starter.

Erskine joins offensive lineman Sam Madden (Wisconsin) and linebacker Manny Bowen (Penn State) as Division I commits from Barnegat's senior class. He also becomes the second Shore Conference quarterback in two seasons to commit to the Bison, as Shore Regional's Matt Muh is part of the incoming freshman class at Bucknell.
