Atlantic Physical Therapy Center 2017 Week 6 Football Picks

The Shore Sports Network football staff of Kevin Williams, Matt Harmon, Ed Sarluca, and Bob Badders are back with their 2017 weekly picks in Shore Conference football action.

We will also have a guest picker each week. This week's guest picker is all-time Brick Memorial great wrestler and NCAA All-American Vinnie Santaniello.

Santaniello had a storied career for the Mustangs, winning four NJSIAA Region 6 championships and earning three all-state finishes. Santaniello became the second Shore Conference wrestler to win four region titles and is one of just six local wrestlers to have ever accomplished the feat. He was a four-time district champion, as well. Santaniello finished fourth in the state as a sophomore and junior, and was the state-runner up at 125 pounds during his senior year in 1990.

Santaniello was also a member of Brick Memorial teams that won four consecutive Shore Conference Tournament championships, two NJSIAA sectional titles and the 1988 NJSIAA Group III state championship. He finished his career with 106 victories and is a member of the Region 6 Hall of Fame.

Santaniello went on to wrestle collegiately at Lock Haven University and then The College of New Jersey. He was a Division III All-American at TCNJ, finished second at 134 pounds.

Santaniello is the owner/operator of Shore Thing Wrestling Club in Lakewood, which opened in the mid 1990s and has produced several NJSIAA state champions and state medalists.
