Governor Christie has given the green light for Atlantic City's casinos can reopen immediately and residents can return home.

Exits off the Atantic City Expressway has been reopened as of 10AM and the 12 casinos are expected to reopen shortly.

"The Director has indicated that a complete review and assessment of the status and condition of each casino property, including the casino floors, its equipment, surveillance, security and gaming related computer systems have been completed," said Governor Christie in a statement.

"I have extreme confidence in Division of Gaming Enforcement staff as they begin the re-opening process of gaming operations in Atlantic City."

The casinos have been closed since Sunday, before Sandy hit.

It was only the fourth shutdown in the 34 years that New Jersey
has had casinos.
