On Sundays during the fall it’s not unusual to get a group of guys (girls too) together to watch football at one of the dozens of taverns, sports bars, and restaurants in the shore area. The largest crowds are usually focused on a Giants, Jets or Eagles game but of course, there are plenty of fans interested in the Steelers, Packers, Cowboys and yes even the Patriots. Not to be overlooked is the NFL Network’s RedZone channel which is a must for Fantasy Football aficionados who are more interested in individual players than teams.

Bar Anticipation in Lake Como or “Bar A” as it’s more commonly known is one of those places that loves football Sundays. With 70 TV’s, a giant screen and all kinds of specials they attract a football following and the hope is on Sunday, October 1st the Jersey Shore Basketball community will turn out for a special reunion between 1-6pm. The event is aimed at everyone and anyone directly or indirectly involved in basketball to come out and watch football while fighting the opioid epidemic in Monmouth and Ocean counties. Organized by Mike Jensen, Jay Lorenzo, Randy Westrol, and Bob Ricci the fundraising part of the reunion comes with a $30 donation which gets you a free buffet along with one drink and plenty of good company. Most of all you’ll be supporting the Preferred Behavioral Health Group of Lakewood, a nonprofit organization that provides services and programs to those living with a mental illness and/or addiction as well as their families.

While the goal is to get people to come out and be part of the Jersey Shore Basketball Reunion on October 1st you can also send your donations to their GoFundMe page HERE.
